Research at the IIM
The Chair of Industrial Information Management (IIM) offers an interdisciplinary approach to logistics research topics at the intersection of business administration, mechanical engineering, and computer science. The research topics of the chair are the design of business models, value creation in data ecosystems, the digitalization of logistics and production as well as innovative topics in the handling of information in production and logistics systems. The aim is to use application-oriented research to address current issues from industrial practice and to transfer innovative technologies into new application scenarios.
Furthermore, the chair is involved in the training of logisticians, mechanical engineers, and industrial engineers in the degree courses at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. Numerous collaborations with national and international partners from science and industry characterize the activities in research and teaching.
