Municipal data trustees

The KomDatIS project is concerned with "Municipal data trustees - integration of citizens and companies for the sovereign exchange of data in the smart city (KomDatIS)" and the development of a concept for the fiduciary handling of data exchange between private individuals, companies and public institutions in the municipal environment. The data trustee will be based on the technical reference architecture of the International Data Spaces, which was developed by the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and is intended to provide the basis for a secure and cross-domain data space. As a use case, a pilot project in the smart city context will be carried out in cooperation with the city of Mönchengladbach, focusing on urban data exchange in parking guidance systems, parking space monitoring and parking space analysis. The project is being carried out by the Technical University of Dortmund together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Software and Systems Engineering (ISST) and Daten-Kompetenzzentrum Städte und Regionen - DKSR GmbH.
